Highlights of the week
The western end of monsoon trough shifted northwards and was close to foot hills of Himalayas during second half of the week.
Two deep depressions and their remnants affected many parts of east & central and some parts of northwest India, causing active to vigorous monsoon conditions.
Extremely heavy rains (more than 20 cm in 24 hours) were experienced over Jharkhand & East Uttar Pradesh on 1-2 days during the week.
