Dusty storm and rains have brought relief to some parts of the country reeling under intense heat wave. However, rising mercury continues to wreak havoc in many parts the country.
Heat wave continued in Telangana and has claimed 219 lives so far. Highest numbers of casualties is recorded in Nalgonda where 76 people lost their lives, whereas 35 people have died under intense heat in Mehboobnagar.
According to the Met dept, heat waves are likely to continue in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, khammam and adjoining areas.
Although a spell of rain brought some relief to Hyderabad and adjoining areas on Tuesday.
Heat wave conditions prevailed across Uttar Pradesh. Banda district in the state recorded the highest temperature at 47.2 degree Celsius.
Most parts of the state are suffering with severe hot and dry winds making it difficult for people to venture out of their homes.
Besides UP, Madhya Pradesh. Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab are also battling intense heat.
Not just plains, hills are also blazing with very hot weather.
On Monday, Shimla recorded temperatures around 30 degree Celsius that is a record. The rains on Tuesday, however, helped bring down the mercury.
For now, there are predictions of some rains in many states of the country in the next 24 to 48 hours that is likely to bring some relief to people.
